Hi! I’m Michael aka “Mr. Anderson”.
Welcome to Mr. Anderson’s Guide! Ever since COVID hit America in 2020, I’ve been diving into and researching different aspects of survivalism and taking a personal inventory of all the experiences and training that I’ve gotten during my time in the Marine Corps.
As a Dad, I want to be able to protect my kids and give them the benefit of my experiences and as much information as possible to keep them prepared. That’s what I’m doing here to do the same for you!
About Me
I grew up in rural Illinois and was always fascinated with the military. I was the 80s. Top Gun, Rambo and Arnold Schwarzenegger were in their heyday. Not to mention I’ve always been a James Bond fan, as was my father.
I joined the military (Navy) right out of high school. My grandfather was in the Navy and some of my most fun times as a kid were fishing and camping with him and my grandmother.
I spent 3 years enlisted and then was fortunate to be admitted to the US Naval Academy where I was commissioned in the US Marine Corps. Over the next 17 years, I had amazing adventures, got the chance to live overseas, learn languages and martial arts, and ended my career in Hawaii.
Since then, I’ve done various things, capitalizing on my background, education and experience. I’ve always been fascinated by and researched intelligence tradecraft, personal defense, and prepping.
My Experience
Contractor – 2013 to Present
I’ve worked various positions based on my military background, education and experience at high levels. Primarily those positions were focused on threat analysis, intelligence and management.
US Military – 1989 to 2013
During my military career, I focused on the areas of logistics, intelligence and foreign affairs. Focusing on these areas allowed me to not only get more professional education but also access to several different and exciting training courses as well. I was also lucky to have the opportunity to live and travel extensively in East Asia, appreciate the culture and language and learn incredible skills along the way.
